Week 8
This past week I have been on vaction in Tennessee, I had a great time. I went white water rafting and went ziplining, which were both firsts for me. But last week at camp I was working with the Blue Bats (3rd and 4th graders) and it was Insects week. Luckily I missed the day that they ate silk worm cocoons, which are really disgusting. But on Thursday I was forced to eat a mealworm to make up for missing the silk worms, and in case anyone is curious they taste like sunflower seeds. Last week in camp was really fun, and I am looking forward to next week when I will be in the Great Migrations camp.

Eating a mealworm? Ew, that sounds like a nasty initiation. I went ziplining for the first time a few months ago, and it was really fun! When do you get to teach the camp?
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome, I've always wanted to try whitewater rafting!
ReplyDeleteSilkworm cocoons!? Now that's pretty gnarly. Now that you say they taste like sunflower seeds I kind of want to try a meal worm. You are brave!
I also wonder what the nutritional value is for those two insects...I hear the way human teeth are situated, we are actually supposed to be insect eaters (in addition to general omnivores).
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an exciting vacation! I don't think I'd be able to do those things on account of my fear of heights and water! and eating worms? sounds like everyone at camp is having a good time.
