Week 8
This past week I have been on vaction in Tennessee, I had a great time. I went white water rafting and went ziplining, which were both firsts for me. But last week at camp I was working with the Blue Bats (3rd and 4th graders) and it was Insects week. Luckily I missed the day that they ate silk worm cocoons, which are really disgusting. But on Thursday I was forced to eat a mealworm to make up for missing the silk worms, and in case anyone is curious they taste like sunflower seeds. Last week in camp was really fun, and I am looking forward to next week when I will be in the Great Migrations camp.

Week 6
Hey Everyone!
So this past week I was on supply duty at the museum. So that basically means I had to go through the teachers supply lists, and figure out what we had, and what we needed to buy. After that I went shopping for the supplies we needed, and sorted them out for each teacher. On Friday the museum had an outreach event, where Beth, Deanna and I went to help out at. We basically were just getting people interested in the stuff we had, and encouraging them to come to the museum. This weekend I finished get supplies ready, and had to set up for camp in general. This week I will be helping out in the Insect Expedition Camp, with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

Week 5
Hey Everyone!
This past week has been quite eventful for me. Last Thursday I went supply shopping with my supervisor and Callum. We basically filled up two shopping carts full of crafts, snacks, and other nesseccary items for camp, and then had to come back and unpack/sort all the supplies. It was quite a tiring day. On Friday, I organized and set up the supplies that were going to be used this week. Each teacher in the camp sends us a list of the supplies they need and then we get all of the materials ready for them. This week I am working on supply duty, which basically means that if the teachers think of anything else that they need they let me know and I will get it for them. Other than that I am going to meet with one of my supervisors today to further discuss my project.

Week 4
Hey everyone!
This past week has been a lot more fun and a lot busier than the last two weeks. Last week I finished up my Curriculum Guide, but I am still waiting for my supervisor to send it back to me for corrections. So in the mean time I have been helping get ready for summer camp, which starts next week. This involves sorting though all of our supply closets,, organizing them and then writing down all the other stuff we need to buy. I also sewed some numbers onto table clothes so we can keep better track of which table cloths are being used, and which ones are nicer than the others. So far I've had a great week, hope everyone else has too!

Week 3
Hey everyone!
This past week for me has been very similar to the last. I have been finishing up my Curriculm Guide, and now I am just waiting for my supervisor, Amanda, to review it so I can make corrections. This week I also have been helping clean up the discovery room, where kids in the museum can go play and do hands on activities.
On a side note, I went to Ginnie Springs this weekend (I had never been before), and it was really nice and fun.
See you all in class,
- Brooke

Week 2
For my internship, I will be working
at the Florida Museum in the Education department. I will be helping create curriculum
guides for the summer camp at the museum. For right now I am making lesson
plans geared towards kids ages 6 - 13. I am currently working on a Curriculum
Guide on the topic of inventions. So right now, I am just working on the computer and trying think of creative lessons for the students for the camp. Once
summer camp gets started I will be working as a camp counselor, and helping out
around the museum. I might also be working with another program, to incorporate
math into the museum.
